“Now, you don't receive the Holy Ghost when you believe. You receive the Holy Ghost after you believe. You receive It after you believe. And It's a gift of God. No faith, no nothing else would give It to you. You can't just imagine you got It; you can't just accept It by faith. “Now. "The works that I do..." God is in His church to continue His works. That's why He sent the Holy Ghost. Now, He The Father sent the Son, put all that's in the Son in you. And the same works that He did, the same very works now that Jesus did, you'll do also, the church. Wouldn't you like to do the works of God? Jesus said, "If you want to do the works of God, believe on Me." How you believe on Him? You can't do it till you got the Holy Ghost, 'cause no man can say He is the Son of God. You're saying what somebody else said, "The Bible said that He's the Son of God; I believe the Bible." All right. "The Bible says He's the Son of God; I believe the Bible. The pastor says He's the Son of God; I believe the pastor. Mama says He's the Son of God; I believe Mama. My friend says He's the Son of God; I believe my friend." But the only way that I can say He's the Son of God, is when the Holy Ghost comes in and bears record of Itself. Then I know He's the Son of God. “If His children will only take His Word, so He can prove It by you! That's the only way He can prove His Word. He doesn't prove It to unbelievers. They can't be proved; they are unbelievers. But down in the very jaws of death, he yet said, "The Lord gave, the Lord taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord!" He certainly believed it. God proved His Word to Job. “People can't understand that medicine is sent of God. Why, brethren, if it's not, it's of the devil. Sure it is. God is where medicine won't reach. Certainly. Medicine is of God, "Well," you say, "I know a lot of doctors that's..." Oh, yes, and I know a lot of preachers that's the same way too. It's not the man that's handling it, it's what it is. I know a many man's handled the Word of God don't believe in Divine healing, don't even believe in God. Right. But they handle It just the same. There's many a man out there with medicine and surgery and stuff that denies God and everything else, but there's a many one that believes Him too. If it helps people, it's of God. I don't have to take that car and ride home tonight; I can walk if I wanted to, but God made me a car, so I thank God for it. “Now, "The works that I do shall you do also," not another work, but God wants to bring the Holy Ghost in you to continue the same work that He was doing in Christ. The work wasn't so needy in the days of Luther; that was God's church.
