“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” [Mark 8:38]“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.[Luke 16:15]
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” [Isaiah 53:3]
“ "Whosoever is ashamed of Me and of My Words, I'll be ashamed of him." Now, the word ashamed could be also translated "embarrassed." You are faced with something that you're embarrassed about, being ashamed. That, another thing being ashamed does, it shows that you are not sure of what you're talking about. If you know what you're talking about, and have the assurance that you know what you're talking about, you can tell anybody that; you're not ashamed. But if you feel put out, out of place, it shows you're not sure.”[Ashamed, Jeffersonville Indiana, 65-0711]
People are ashamed to say "amen." People are ashamed to praise the Lord. I believe it was Finney, Charles G. Finney (I'm not sure it was Finney; I believe it was), that was going out behind his study, or his office to pray. And one day while kneeling out there in the--under an old tree that had blown down, he was praying. And while he prayed, he thought somebody was coming up, and he stopped quickly, and cleared up his throat and said, "Hmmm, hmmm." And raised up and looked around. And there God convinced Him. He said, "You're ashamed of Me. But you'd think it was a great thing if somebody seen you talking to your boss. You'd stand right by your boss and talk, think it was a privilege. Let all the office people see that you had the privilege of talking to your boss. And I'm your Lord and you're ashamed of Me." He fell on his face and said, "Lord God, forgive me as a sinner." He said he preached the same messages that he'd preached before, but the next time he preached them, they was inspired. It done something. The Holy Spirit took a hold of him. He become one of the greatest ministers since Saint Paul. Why? He let God come in and take control, took his own private life, his pride as a scholar, whatever he was.” [The Door Inside The Door, Klamath Falls OR, 60-0711
“There hanging, that precious Life that knowed nothing but love and doing good, hung there between the heavens and earth, lifted up there, stripped naked, embarrassed... Think how you would be, stripped naked; you wouldn't know embarrassment to what God would hanging there. I know the crucifix has a little thing, like they have something around Him, but they never did that; that's just put on because of the artist put it there. They stripped His clothes from Him. He had on a robe and they tore it off of Him and gambled for it. He was embarrassed to the utmost. Yet, being God, had to stand, and sinners spit on His face. Yet, being the--the very depths of mercy, had to die before the public, stripped naked. Such affect it took upon Him, till it separated the water and the Blood. No wonder... I think the poet well expressed it when he said: Mid rendering rocks, and darkening skies, My Saviour bowed His head and died. But the opening veil revealed the way To Heaven's joys and endless day.” [Living Dying Buried Rising Coming, Jeffersonville Indiana, 59-0329S]
“Now you see, women, I'm trying my best to show you the Word of God. The Bible said, "If a woman cuts her hair, she dishonors her head," which is her husband. And her husband is the head, with God, so she dishonors God and her husband. Now this shows who is the head of this world's church system. That shows who is the head of it. It's Satan, in the form of a super man, person of knowledge, a super knowledge. He knows more than all the rest of them. No matter what the Word says, he--he's got his own interpretation to It, see, the interpretation for this evil age.” [The God Of This Evil Age, Jeffersonville Indiana, 65-0801M]
Paul said before Agrippa. Being a Jew, taught under Gamaliel, a great dignitary he was. But one day, on the road down to Damascus, he come in Presence, contact with God. An Angel came down from Heaven, in a form of a Pillar of Fire, a Light that struck him on the ground. Raised up, and said, "Lord, Who are You?" And He said, "I am Jesus." 213    Standing before Agrippa, he repeated the story again. He said, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for It's the Power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believes." Sure.” [Ashamed, Jeffersonville Indiana, 65-0711]
“"When you come together to eat..." Now, "He that eats and drinks unworthily," comes up here and professes to be a Christian, taking the body of the Lord, and then goes out and lives with the world, and--and denies Christ, and His power, and things like that, you--you do a great dishonor to God. You--you do dishonor to Christ, so don't you take it. But if you're trying with all that's in you to live right and to show forth that you are a Christian, that you love Jesus Christ, then it's your duty to do it.” [Possessing All Things, Jeffersonville Indiana, 62-0506]
“Sinner friend, would Jesus stand for you tonight? Backslider, you church member, that's never received God's Gift, the Holy Ghost, and you're ashamed of it, because your church don't teach it. "If you're ashamed of Me before man, him will I be ashamed before My Father and the holy Angels." Don't you never try to stand by the teachings of a mortal man. Don't you never try to stand with that spirit that you have, it's condemned from the garden of Eden. It's not a face lifting the church needs, it needs a birth. You must be born again. And if you haven't received that blessing of being borned again, and know that you've passed from death unto Life, I wonder if you'll just--with your heads bowed--if you'd just raise your hand and say, "Christ, by this, I promise by Your grace, I'll stand for you from this night, henceforth." Would you raise your hand, anywhere in the building. God bless you, lady. God bless you. God bless you, sir. God bless you, back there. Up in the balcony, along the rows back there in the bleachers. Someone up there, just raise your hand. Say, "Brother Branham, pray for me." [The Queen Of Sheba, Harrisonburg VA,58-0313]
“But let me say this. A man who has once come in contact with God, which is the Word, and the Word has been made plain and manifested to him, there is no shameness about that. You're not embarrassed. Doesn't embarrass me to say I believe every Word of God. Doesn't embarrass me when the Lord says to say anything, you go say it and do it. It don't embarrass me to say that I've been filled with the Holy Ghost. It don't embarrass me to say that I've spoke with other tongues. It don't embarrass me to say that our Lord has showed me visions. It don't embarrass me to say He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. "When you're brought before rulers and kings, for My Name's sake, take no thought what you shall say, for it'll be given to you in that hour. It's not you that speaketh, but My Father that dwelleth in you. But whosoever is ashamed of Me and My Word, in this generation, him will I be ashamed of before My Father and the holy Angels." God help us not to be ashamed, but help us to be a living testimony.”[Ashamed, Jeffersonville Indiana, 65-0711]
