“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” [I Corinthians 4:20]
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”[Mark 16:17-18]
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” [II Timothy 3:5]
“Paul said, "The Gospel come to us not in word only, but through power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost." Yes, sir. When He said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature," He also said, "Demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost in all the world." Yes, sir. It never come to us through Word only. The Word's got to be quickened and made alive in the demonstration of the power of the Holy Ghost. I said, "Then if you call that the greater things, surely you can do the lesser things then. Go heal the sick. Pray for the sick. Cast out devils. Do those kinds of work." Jesus said, "The things that I do, shall you also." And if you'll do them, He will do them. "The things that I do, shall you do, and greater then this; for I go to My Father." To be greater would be more of you... more of it. Oh, my. Isn't He wonderful? Now, believe Him tonight while we pray.” [52-0727  Led By The Holy Spirit, Zion IL]
“The Word is God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." And then Jesus said, "If ye abide in Me, and My Word in you, ask what you will, it'll be done for you." See? That's staying with Christ in the Word. Don't go right or left. Stay right with it. See? And then it's actually not your Word, then. It's His Word, and His Word has the power and authority behind It. Now, and if the Holy Spirit, which is God's Word, or the power of God's Word, comes in with God's Word, it'll make God's Word display Itself.... Go ye into all the world, and demonstrate the Gospel to every creature." And he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;... he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe;... 70    What a beautiful setting that is! If we would just go deep now and listen, that was the credentials that was to hang onto every man that went forth preaching the Gospel. And no man has a right to preach the Gospel without the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Jesus would not let Peter, James, John, any of the rest of them, preach the Gospel until they waited in the city of Jerusalem until the Holy Ghost had filled them, because it's the Holy Ghost that makes the Word of God go into action. See?” [62-0122, Confirmation Of The Commission, Tempe AZ]
“Would the Bride of Christ have... Would the Bride of Christ have a ministry before the rapture? Sure. That's what's going on right now. See? The Bride of Christ... Certainly. It is the Message of the hour (See?), the Bride of Christ. Sure, She's consist of apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors. Is that right? That's the Bride of Christ. Sure, She's got a ministry, great ministry; it's the ministry of the hour; it'll be so humble...” [63-0324M, Questions And Answers On The Seals, Jeffersonville IN]
“Today we say, "What signs?" We go to church; we pay our dues, and we treat our neighbors right. That's wonderful, but that ain't what Jesus said. Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe: In My Name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues; take up serpents; drink deadly things; lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." That's the signs that Jesus said. Our ministry has changed it over, and said, "Oh, there's a real believer; I tell you; he loves the Lord. And he goes to church every Sunday, and he pays his dues to the church, and he treats his neighbor right." That's just moral acts. The Holy Spirit in the man demonstrates the power of the supernatural, what makes him a believer. It's God vindicating that he is a believer. Jesus said, "These (not 'them'), these signs shall follow them that believe."” [51-0718, The Angel Of The Lord, Toledo OH]
“Now, Jesus said, "The things that I do, shall you also. More than this shall you do, for I go to My Father. You'll do more than this." Then if Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then He's here tonight. He's never left the earth, no more than He ascended up and come back in the form of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. He empowered the disciples and gave them power. And how far was it to go? To just the disciples? Listen to His last commission: "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Is that right? That's to all the world and to every creature in the world. And it's never got there yet. And how long was...?... last? "Until all the world..." Preach the Gospel. The Gospel is not in word only, the--it's the Word made manifest. Paul said, "The Gospel come not in word only, but through power and demonstrations of the Holy Spirit. See? Now, watch and see if that coincides with what He said, "Go into all the world; preach the Gospel to every creature; He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not, shall be damned." Now today...?... that's just as far as the preacher goes. That's right. "He that believeth, is baptized, shall be saved. He that believes not shall be damned, and (conjunction, connecting it) these signs shall follow them that believe." Oh, you're not taught that, are you? "These signs shall follow them that believe. In My Name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues. If they take up serpents or drink deadly things, it would not harm them. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover. That's right. Watch where them things are happening, and you'll see the Pillar of Fire following the church, God a vindicating it.” [54-0331, The Resurrection Of Jairus Daughter, Louisville KY]
“The reason today, that Christianity is in about the fifth place among the religions, when it comes to numbers, is because we have failed to do what Jesus commanded us to do. The last words that Jesus Christ gave to His church was to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Instead of that, we have went and taught the Bible. Well, the Gospel doesn't mean the Word only. Paul said, "The Gospel came not in word only, but in power and manifestation of the Holy Ghost." The Word is a Seed, but the Seed won't grow unless it's placed in the right kind of ground. No matter how much seed you got, if you're afraid to sow it ...(afraid to sow--afraid)... the seed will do you no good. But listen to this: every Word of God is a Seed. Jesus said so. And every promise of God will come to pass if you will receive it and don't doubt it, can place it in your heart, and believe it come from God, and water it with faith, it'll spring forth of its kind. Don't never forget this statement. I make this from my heart. The right mental attitude towards any promise of God will bring it to pass. You believe that? ...?... Amen. If you'll take the right attitude, that it's God's Word, and God is behind His Word, and the Word is God, it'll bring to pass what it says. If you plant wheat, you get wheat. If you plant corn, you get corn. If you want to be saved, accept His plan of salvation. If you want to be healed, accept His plan of healing. Here they are. He, Christ, was wounded for our transgressions; with His stripes we were healed. That's all you have to know. The next thing you have to do, is to believe it, and it'll take care of itself. Hallelujah. ...?... It will.” [55-0813   Fellowship, Karlsruhe Germany
“Now what is the Gospel? The word, "Gospel," means "good news." The good news is the Bible, but the Bible is the letter. "The letter killeth, and the Spirit giveth life." So Paul said, "The Gospel come not through Word only, but through the power and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit." Now notice, the only way that the Gospel could be preached then, would be to manifest the power of the Holy Spirit. Then what's the next quotation? "And (a conjunction) these signs shall follow them that believe." Not these signs may follow them, they ought to follow them, but they shall follow them that believe. Then strictly speaking, a man cannot qualify himself as a believer until this has happened. No church can have the right of calling themselves a believing church until these signs has followed them. That's what Jesus said. What is it doing? It's making the Word manifest.” [58-0330A A Missionary Talk, Middletown OH]
“You can get so much on the Word, you think, "Oh, the Word, the Word." That's right. But the Gospel came not in word only; but through power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit, until the Word is made Life. See? Wheat's all right in your hand, but you never get a crop out of it. You got to bury it, and let it take on new life. Is that right?” [52-0810A  I Am The Resurrection And The Life, Chicago IL]
