September 2013 Newsletter: Choosing by Faith

“Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” [James 2:18]
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” [Hebrews 11:1-2]
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” [Romans 10:17]
“Abraham believed God, that's what God saw in him; he believed It. But then when he went to acting as though it was already done, that's what man saw in him. And that's the same as it is to us, because our works express what faith we have. But if we're afraid to act on what we believe, then we do not believe It. See, you've got to believe.” [Works Is Faith Expressed, Shreveport LA, 65-1126]
“There's a choosing, and we choose for ourselves. We choose something that's for our own good. But Moses chose the afflictions and the disgrace, that he might walk with the people of God. Think of it, now. Listen to it: "Chose the afflictions of the people of God and counted it a greater treasure, for he endured seeing Him Who was invisibly." Now Lot, one time, had to make a choice. And it may be this morning, that there'll be men and women setting here, that'll make your final choice. You are today what you are, because several years ago you chose to be what you are now. And what you choose now, will determine what you'll be five years from today. Five years from today you may be a missionary. Five years from today you may be a renown Christian. Or five years from today you may be in hell, because you made the wrong decision. Five years from today you may be cleaning spittoons in a barroom. Five years from today you may be a prostitute on the street. Or you may be a man or a woman, that's a--that's a credit to any society, because of your choice for Christ. Five years from today you may be in glory, gone in the rapture, because you made your choice today. But you've got to choose. And don't look at what you see; choose what you see by faith. That's the only thing that will count, is what you choose by faith.” [By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville IN, 58-0720M]
“Now, Moses with his great faith, again, could say "no" to the present things of the present world, and make a righteous choice. He chose to suffer the afflictions with the people of God. He chose to go with it. Why? His faith! He saw the promise. He saw the end time. He saw over in tomorrow, and he let his faith loose. And he didn't pay no attention to what his eyes saw in the possibilities here, that he was the pharaoh and was going to be the pharaoh. He looked plumb over in tomorrow.  Oh, if people could only do that, didn't see the present world. If you look at the present world, you make a choice with it. Hide your eyes from that, and look at the promise of God, way over in tomorrow.  By his faith he could choose. He did choose to be called the son of Abraham, and refused to be called the son of Pharaoh. [Why Cry Speak, Jeffersonville IN, 63-0714M]
“Lot, as he had to make a choice, Abraham give Lot his choice. And God gives you your choice. "Choose you this day who you shall serve." In the garden of Eden there was a tree of--of knowledge and a Tree of Life. Man was given the privilege to choose either one he desired. And so is it today; you're given your privilege, as free moral agents, to choose whatever you want to choose. My advice to you is, don't look at the modern things around you, and the popularity, and the glamour that you could be, but choose rather, by faith Him, that give the promise that someday He will come and will righten all wrongs, and will give you Eternal Life, and raise you up. No matter if you take the despised way with the Lord's few, make that choice.“[By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville IN, 58-0720M]
“If there's troubles in the land, if there's troubles in the church, if there's troubles in the home, no matter where it is, make your choice, "By faith "I'll serve God. I'll humble my heart in His presence. I'll take the way with God's children. I see them despised, and rejected, and drove out, and made fun of, but I'll still take my post of duty. I'll stay right by them, and when they cry, I'll cry with them. And when they're sorrow, I shall sorrow with them. The way they live, I'll live." Like Naomi said--or Ruth said to Naomi, "Your ways be my ways; my ways be your ways; where you live, I'll live; where you go, I'll go; the God that you serve, will be my God." Take that choice, though it pulls the very skin off of your conscience, of thinking that you're somebody. Skin yourself down and take your way with the Lord's despised few, and stay loyal on the field of service and at the post of duty. “[By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville IN, 58-0720M]
“In the garden of Eden, the devil chose the man's head by intellectual. God chose his heart by faith. And if you walk by faith, you have to believe things that you cannot see or even reason with your mind. We cast down reasons. When God says anything, we don't look at it no more intellectually; we let it soak right down into our heart and call anything contrary to it, as though it wasn't. We look at what God said, Who gave the promise. That's where the world's so tangled today. It's at too much intellectual preaching. Instead of Spirit filled churches worshipping in the Spirit, they're listening to intellectual messages. And you can't reason this out. There's no way at all to do it.” [El Shaddai, Los Angeles CA, 59-0416]
“And in order to obtain this same promise that Abraham had, you have to separate yourself from all worldly contacts, all the things of the world. Your sinful desires, your lust, passions of the world, and all these things, separate yourself from the thing. Come apart into a strange land, a land that you've never been in before, to walk, not by sight, but by faith. For Abraham had nothing; no one has crossed this river Euphrates and sojourned into this land. But Abraham, by faith, forsook his own and went forward, separating himself, as the Blood of Jesus Christ today by the Holy Spirit separates us from the things of the world to walk in a new life. Criticized, made fun of, called holy-roller, misunderstood, but our anchor holds.” [Melchisedec The Great Prince And King, Jeffersonville IN, 55-0109M]
“Remember, she had to choose by faith. She'd never seen the man. But she had to choose by faith and the words of a servant. That's the same way you'll have to do. 'Cause, that's the only way there is to do it. God sends out His servants and they preach the Word. Faith cometh by hearing. What do you think about it? That's up to you to make your choice. I would advise you not to put it off. You say, "Well, I have always longed to receive the Holy Spirit. I better think it over." Don't think it over. This is the time. It's the truth. "I believe that God would heal me someday." As long as you keep that in your mind, you're a defeated person. God healed you nineteen hundred years ago. Now is the day of your decision when you hear the message that Christ was wounded for your transgressions, with His stripes you were healed. This is the time now to believe it.” [A Time Of Decision, Los Angeles CA, 59-0418]
And choosing by faith, most everything that we do, we have to choose by faith. And all that we find that Moses did--that's worth repeating--was by faith, not by sight, but by faith. And the reason that I have selected this this morning for the church in this state, has been, that in our--even our schools and around, we have had so much of scientific teaching. Because of this, we have drawn the people away from faith. Now, faith is not proved by science. Faith is what science doesn't see. And we, if we ever lose this great faith, then we are totally in darkness. It don't matter how well we are educated, how we could explain the Word of God to suit our own way of believing, there is no way to ever please God--only by faith. The Scripture plainly states it that way. And it's by faith. And without faith, says the Scripture, it is impossible to please God. So if faith disagrees with science, and science disagrees with faith, that puts them at--at edge at each other, then we must take a choice as Moses did. By faith we believe.” [By Faith Moses, Jeffersonville IN, 58-0720M]
“Now make your choice. That's the same thing God put before Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden. See? By faith, you must make your choice. Now notice, sight led Pharaoh to his death, and to destruction of his city. Moses, with his faith, never did fear Pharaoh. See? He didn't care what Pharaoh said. He cared not about Pharaoh, no more than his mother and his daddy cared about their threats.” [Why Cry Speak, Jeffersonville IN, 63-0714M]
Our Bible Study Subject for September 2013: Choosing by Faith
“Now, you've got to make a choice. Jesus said, "Let every man's word be a lie and Mine be the Truth." Now, you've got to make up your mind. You've got to make a choice. And this may be your last time to make a choice. Tomorrow may be too late. God might have chose you to Eternal Life.”[A Time Of Decision, Los Angeles CA, 59-0418]
