“Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.” [II Kings 7:9]
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” [Luke 2:10]
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;” [Isaiah 61:1]
“And this morning the Holy Spirit, through the Word's bringing you the good news, that from before the foundation of the world God wrote your name in the Lamb's Book of Life. All the devils out of hell can't erase it out of there. God wrote it and spoke it. It's just as sure to happen as God wrote it in there before the foundation of the world. Amen. How glorious our heavenly Father is in His infinite love and His mercy to do that for us. "Then be ye therefore perfect, even as your heavenly Father is perfect." How can you be? When it's not my perfection, it's not your perfection; it's His perfection of His Word, that He chose you. You never chose Him. And He brought you into Christ. And you are secure with Jesus Christ, and just as perfect as Christ was before God. For you're not standing with your own; you're standing in Him with one thing, "I believe God." Amen. Oh, I love Him. Oh, my. On the other side of Eden... Amen, What a wonderful time it'll be someday, when you look back down and say, "Why did I fear? Look at the joy I missed."“ [56-0603 The Lamb's Book Of Life, Jeffersonville IN]
“Hebrews 13:8 said, "He's the same yesterday, today, and forever." We, His beneficiaries, are to prove His Life is in us now, the beneficiaries of this Life. The Life, there never was a life lived like it; He was the Son of God. And He died, and that shut it out; but when He raised again from the dead, on Easter morning, then we, as His servants, are commissioned by Him to go into all the world and to bring this good news to every person, that He is a living. And how can we do it by Word only? For it is written, "The Gospel came not by Word only, but through the power and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, to prove that He is alive."“ [65-0418M It Is The Rising Of The Sun, Jeffersonville IN]
“No wonder the Gospel is good news. The very word Gospel means "the good news." The good news, what? If a man died for our sake, that's good news. If Christ was born, that's good news. But never a news, never was there news like this news, that, He Who made the promise has confirmed the promise, that, "He's alive forevermore, and have the keys of both death and hell, in His hand." All the gloom was shook away. There was no more gloom to be seen, for the Son was up from the grave. There was no, "Well, He will come, or He may come." He had already come, the Gospel, good news!”[65-0418M It Is The Rising Of The Sun, Jeffersonville IN]
“God sent His Son, preaching the Gospel. That's right. The Gospel is the good news. In Isaiah 61, to you who are taking down the Scriptures, God said there, speaking--Isaiah, rather, of Christ's coming. He said, "God has anointed me to preach the Gospel, to bring good tidings, and to set the captives free, and to open the prison doors, and let the captives go free." God sent Christ to open the prison doors of man who are setting in darkness. And if you notice the--the type that He spoke to, setting them free, it wasn't the illiterate. It was the scholars, the educated one, Christ come to set them free.” [55-0410M Proof Of His Resurrection, Jeffersonville IN]
“Christ come to set the captive free. You don't have to be bound down with habits, halfway Christian life. God don't want you to be that way. He wants you to be free. God anointed Christ to preach freedom to open the prison doors. And every time you... Say you're setting in there, and your death sentence is on you. And the first thing you know, they're fixing to take you out to hang you, or to execute you in some way. And the first thing, you hear somebody coming down the street, saying, "Hold it. I got the pardon. You don't have to die." Now, you don't have to wait till you're out of the prison. You're just as free right then as you will be when you're out. So the man can just be as happy, setting in prison, as he would be out of prison, as long as he knows his pardon is signed. That's the way it is this morning. Here it is. To every man and woman that has a hungry heart, to come out of the prison cells this morning, the good news of the Gospel is preached. And no matter if you're still setting sick, if you're still setting bound, you can be just as free because the news has come, "You are pardoned." Christ rose some nineteen hundred years ago this morning to set every prisoner free, opened the prison doors and let them come out. Oh, what a marvelous thing. No wonder the poet thrilled when he heard that. Inspiration struck him. He said, "Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me; Buried, He carried my sins far away;” [55-0410M Proof Of His Resurrection, Jeffersonville IN]
“And today, when a man hears the good news, Christ died in your stead, nothing that you can do about it, Christ paid the price, the Gospel sound, you can drop every cigarette, every chew tobacco, every whiskey bottle, every--every thing that's binding you and say, "I am free. This is the good news. Christ has made me free." You're a free people. You don't have to go any longer. You don't have to serve the devil any longer. You can be free if you desire to be free. Now, you don't have to drink; you don't have to run around; you don't have to mistreat your wife; you don't have to curse; you don't have to lie; you don't have to steal; you don't have to be weary. Why, you've got the resources up yonder that's never been tapped of the bountiful blessings of God that the world knows nothing about. You say, "I must have a little pleasure." Why, brother, if you ever hear the good news of the trumpet, the worldly pleasures seem so little they're sounding brass and a tinkling cymbal. You don't need it no more.” [56-0715 The Mark Of The Beast, Jeffersonville IN]
“Now, the very essence of the Message that was sent, that, "He is risen from the dead," we His beneficiaries, we who share the resurrection with Him, draw benefits from this, by proving to the world that He is alive. We cannot do it by word only. We cannot do it by some tradition of man. We only reflect exactly what we're pointing to. I'm afraid today that too many of us are not getting people to Christ. We're getting them to a church, to a theory. But we must get them to Christ. He is the only One, and the only One that has Life. "He that has the Son has Life." And if the life of a man that's dead be projected in you, you will live the same life he lived. If the blood of a man was a certain type, and you took the blood from one man and changed the blood of the one man into another, he would absolutely be that typed blood. And if your spirit that's in you is reckoned dead, and you are anointed with the Life that was in Christ, is upon you! Romans 8:11 said, "If the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, dwells in you, It also quickens your mortal body," that same Life, them same powers, them same beneficiaries, that He had here on earth, from God. He redeemed you, a Seed that was foreknown by God, whose names was put on the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world.” [65-0418M It Is The Rising Of The Sun, Jeffersonville IN]
“The hour is here! If I could have been back there before the days that the world was created, and looked down and seen the whole thing, and the Father had said to me, "What day would you want to live?" I would say now, right now! This is the hour! This is the greatest hour that the Church has ever moved into, just before the coming of the Bridegroom. Oh, the real Church of the living God ought to be on fire, burning, with the Light of the Gospel being vindicated among them. "Rise and shine, for the Light has come to you," the Light of this day. Isaiah was the light of his day. Noah was the light of his day. Why? He had the Word manifested. And the Gospel, the Bible Words for this day, is the Light of the day. What a glorious time that we are living!” [64-0119 Shalom ,Phoenix AZ]
“Notice, the very Message of the Gospel, Itself, is to prove to the people that He is risen. "Go tell My disciples that I am risen from the dead, and I'll meet with them, to confirm this to them." O God, how in this last day there shall be Light again across the earth! "And I'll prove to My disciples! Go tell them that I am not dead, and I'm not a tradition, but I am a living Christ. I'll meet them. Take this Message to My disciples, that I am risen from the dead," the Gospel, good news. You say, "Is that right?"” [65-0418M It Is The Rising Of The Sun, Jeffersonville IN]
