QUESTION:

Does your soul have freewill choice?

ANSWER:

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” [Joel 3:14]

“Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.” [Hebrews 11:25]

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His Own Blood.” [Revelation 1:5]

“I set down there and just started to weeping. I saw a vision. I saw as it was, the world whirling around in the air, and there stood a rainbow around that world. And someone that was speaking to me, said, "That's the Blood of Jesus Christ around this world, that keeps Him from destroying it. If God can see sin, 'The day you eat thereof, that day you die.' Every man under that Blood there has a--is a free moral agent to take your choice. But if you ever die, and your soul soars beyond the mercy of that Blood, you're already judged before you get there. There's nothing left for you." [Redemption By Power, Louisville, KY 54-0329]

“You, you're a free moral agent; you act on whatever you desire to act upon. Right. God has put before man, like the garden of Eden, the Tree of Life or the tree of death. You make your choice. See? Whatever your soul is charmed for, that's what you'll eat.” [The Seven Church Ages, Jeffersonville, IN 54-0512]

“I thought, "Oh, I see." If that's the reason God can't take the life of those people, sinners, because they are yet protected. They have a chance yet. The Blood of Jesus is still protecting them. It's like a bumper to the world. I said, "Oh, I see. I see, Lord, what You mean." Yeah, the Blood of Jesus Christ covered the world like this, and every man while you're here, you're still a moral, free moral agent. If you reject it, and reject it, and then you die, and your soul goes beyond that, then you've judged yourself; God don't have to judge you. See? If you die without the Blood of Christ, you're a sinner and you're lost. If you accept the Blood, then you're in Christ, protected.” [The Law Having A Shadow, Binghamton, NY 54-1203]

“You may have intellectual faith. You may believe it from the standpoint of the Word. But in your heart, in your soul, has the Holy Spirit ever called you to there? No matter what your mind says, something in your soul believes. If not, then you're outside of God, outside of Christ, dead, alienated from God, dead trespasses and sin, a sinner bound towards hell.” [Contend For The Faith, Phoenix AZ 55-0220E]

“There's two elements that make up the human being. And one of them is your mind, and the other is your soul. And the mind is your mental thinking, your intellectual. And your soul is a part of God that's in you. Now, now a man can... When you are born in this world you be... As a child, you grow into be a living soul and at the age of choice, you hear the Gospel in some way, and something way down inside you tells you to receive Christ. That... You'll say, "Well, I'm too young now. I'll wait a little longer." Now, there's where you make your first mistake right there, for you grieved this person inside. God's not going to judge you by this man up here, your intellect. He's going to judge you by your soul.” [Jesus Christ The Same, Campbellsville, KY 55-0806]

“Remember, I'm telling you, it could be the last time. "My spirit will not always strive with man," seeing that he's just flesh. You're a free moral agent; you can make your choice. Why not make it today? Why not put your soul in the hands of Him Who knows all things, Who holds Eternity in His hands? He's the right One to direct you. He's the only One Who can justly place you where you should be.” [Pride, Campbellsville, KY 55-0807e]

“All people, we love our nation, why, the greatest nation under the heavens. If it wasn't, I'd leave till I get the greatest nation. But I'm glad to be in America, but I'm sorry to see it de--demoralizing, and--and corrupting and going down with vice and sin the way she's sinking tonight. And that's why we're preaching the Gospel and trying everything that we can to seine out every soul that God would have saved, before the great climax comes. That's our reason of being here tonight. There'll come a time when there won't be any Charlotte. There won't--won't be one stone left upon another. There'll be a time that these hills will shake and crumble, but you'll be somewhere. And tonight, maybe it's time for you to decide where you'll be at that time. You're a free moral agent; you can make the decision.” [Jesus Christ The Same, Charlotte, NC 56-0426]

“Are you thirsty? Do you really want to be a real Christian? If you really want to be a old-time Christian, there's something in there that makes you want it. Do you want to go to heaven? You remember the animal doesn't want to go to heaven. That animal hasn't got no soul. The animal don't know what life hereafter is. But you know what life hereafter is. You long for life hereafter; the animal can't; it has no soul. But you were made with a soul. And that soul was given to you to make a decision. That heart that's within you, it makes a decision. And the animal can't make that decision, 'cause it has not that in it to make.” [Thirsting For Life, Chicago, IL 57-0630]

“You say, "What do you mean by putting up your hand, Brother Branham? Was that good enough?" Absolutely. I said this the other night. It stands repeating. According to the laws of science, you broke every law and defied science when you raised your hand. You're a creature of this earth, and the gravitation of the earth will hold your hands down, actually. But there was a spirit in you, a supernatural something that science can't find. The Holy Spirit spake to it. And you defied science by raising your hands to your Creator, "By this, I will now accept You as my Saviour." It was a decision that your soul made that defied science and gravitation and say, "I accept Jesus as my Saviour." It's a witness that you're a Christian.” [Thirsting For Life, Tacoma, WA 57-0728]

“What have you done when you raise your hand? You've defied every law that science has. According to gravitation your arms are supposed to hang down. But when you raised your hand up to the Creator of heavens and earth, and your Creator, you defy the laws of gravitation showing that there's a spirit in you that's made a decision. "I now raise my hand, defy all laws of gravitation, everything else, because the Creator that spoke to my heart as... My soul has made a decision that I love Him and I will raise my hand to Him to be merciful to me." If I know my Bible right, Jesus said, "He that heareth My words and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Everlasting Life, and shall never come into the judgment, but has passed from death to life." That's the difference.” [God Manifesting His Gifts, Edmonton, AB 57-0805]

"Man shall not live by bread alone," said the Lord, "but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." And a man's physical being, to be taken care of, is not all the reason God put him on the earth. Because what He does with this physical being amounts to very little. It's his soul what counts. It's the inward man that did not come from the earth; it come from heaven, and that's the eternal part of the human being. But yet, strange that he tries to figure his own way out. And we find it so in the Scriptures. That when a man chooses to walk in his own way and do the way he wants to, God just let's him alone. Man must not think for himself, but he must let the mind that was in Christ be in him. We are not to think for ourself. We are to call anything contrary to what He said, as though it is not, no matter what our eyes claim to be. We do not live by what we see; we live by what we believe.” [Looking At The Unseen, Jeffersonville, IN 58-1003]

“God doesn't send you to hell for being a sinner. God sends you to hell, because you won't repent and take Christ as your Saviour. You refused to take the right road. You send yourself to torment. You send your own soul to its eternal destination upon the free moral AGENCY of your own convictions. God does not send anyone to hell. He never did, and He never will. Men send themselves to hell, because they refuse to--to accept the way of salvation. God isn't... He's long-suffering. He doesn't want any to perish. Never wanted it. But men rather walk in darkness than to walk in Light.” [What Went Ye Out To See, Utica, IN 59-1001]

“That's the same way we are tonight. We can take His Word and be healed, or we can leave it, and walk away from it, and not be healed. We can have Eternal Life by believing on Him or we can walk away and not have Eternal Life. It's up to you: SELFWILL.” [Expectations, Richmond, VA 61-0308]

“And to think of what a great Person that is you're talking to, the Creator Himself, and communing with Him Who put your life in this volcanic ash that you're living in. And then someday you'll have to leave there, and then it's in His hands where it goes from there on. And you have the privilege now to make your choice which way that soul goes when it leaves.” [Remembering The Lord, Phoenix, AZ 63-0122]

“The outside man is a physical being which is controlled by six senses... or five senses, rather. The inside man is a spirit man which is controlled by five senses; conscience, and love, and so forth. The outside man; see, taste, feel, smell, hear. But the inside of that spirit is a soul, and it's controlled by one thing, your FREEWILL. You can accept what the devil says or accept what God says. And that'll determine what spirit is in there. If it's the Spirit of God, It'll feed on the things of God, and It won't feed on anything of the world. Jesus said, "If you love the world or the things of the world, it's because the love of God has not even entered this inner part." Satan has deceived you. "And man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." [The God Of This Evil Age, Jeffersonville, IN 65-0801M]

“Now, inside of that is a spirit, which you become when you're born in the earth and the breath of life is breathed into him. That spirit is of a worldly nature because it was not given from God, but it was (given) permitted by God. Now you got that? For, every child that's born in the world, "is born in sin, shaped in iniquity; come to the world speaking lies." That right? So, that person, inside there, is a sinner, to begin with. Now, but... [PAR] Now, it's got five inlets. And them five inlets... I don't know whether I can call them right off now. When the... First, I know, is thought, conscience, and love, choice... No. Conscience, love, reason... There is five inlets to the spirit. You can't think with your body; you have to think with your spirit. You can't have conscience in your body. It has no mental faculties at all; your body doesn't, so you have to think with your spirit. You have to reason. You can't reason with your physical being, 'cause reason doesn't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. Reason is what you can make in your mind. If you're asleep or you're out, your body is lying there dead, but your spirit can still reason. There is five senses that controls that inside man. And that... [PAR] Now, to the last man, which is the soul, there is only one sense that controls that, and that is FREE MORAL AGENCY'S FREEWILL to choose or to reject.” [And Knoweth It Not, Jeffersonville, IN 65-0815]
